I am glad to graduate from the CodePath’s iOS bootcamp with honors in Spring 2018. Throughout the 12 weeks of this bootcamp, I have had the opportunities to clone many popular real-time apps, such as Yelp, Twitter and Instagram using APIs and Parse. This bootcamp has provided me the toolkit and ability to develop production apps from scratch on my own by using modern technologies, such as Parse, Firebase and various APIs. Most importantly, I have had a chance to work in a team on an app as our final project –– ShopMeet, which allows users to meet other people at the same store to shop together or share items bought in bulk. This app idea is motivated by the feeling that as a new college student, it can feel helpless and lonely to shop for grocery alone or buy things in smaller portions. And this app provides a platform for them to meet up and shop together, or they simply join the chat room at the grocery store or restaurant just for fun when they are nearby. The best part of working on this final project is that I could work with three other fellow students from the bootcamp, in which I had gained technical communication skills and experience in working on a team project with Git, and our app eventually earned the title as Best Design App after our presentation on demo day.
